GDSN (The Global Data Synchronisation
Network) is a network of interoperable data pools and a Global Registry, the
GS1 Global Registry, for communicating master data (Catalogue Item
and Party) between trading partners. In simple terms, GDS (Global
Data Synchronisation) enables product information from one trading
partner, such as a supplier, to be made available to any chosen
trading partner, such as a retailer, using a standardised process.
The information is defined using agreed standards which all parties
can understand and can include, for example, product description,
price, size, pack, name, address and the quantity of items in a
purchase order.
In 2004, GS1 China set up and perfected GDSN's data pool
in China - ANCCNET, and received the international certification
of Global Registry Center in January 2008. This has provided an
authoritative platform for the exchange and sharing of China's commodity
information with the global market, and will play a central role
in promoting the in-depth application of China's commodity barcode
data information and accelerating the development of e-Commerce
standardization. By the end of 2007, more than 60,000 enterprises
had been entered into the e-catalog of ANCCNET, and more than 1.1
million GTIN of information had been included.
GS1 China is willing to cooperate with countries around the
world to encourage the exchange and sharing of China's commodity
information. |
